Review of the Visit
Relaxing Atmosphere: 4.5 points (out of 5)
You can really feel a special atmosphere. One reason is that it is located near Narita Airport, which has the highest number of international flight passengers in Japan. You can see and hear airplanes from the open-air bath (although I thought it would be more impressive since it’s so close to Narita Airport, but you can see them from a distance in reality). Also, surrounding area is quite open with fields and hills, so it doesn’t feel urban, and the openness is quite refreshing (I think it’s because there are no tall buildings around, so they don’t need to build high walls).
Quality of the Hot Spring: 5 points (out of 5)
The hot spring has a strong aroma. Narita Airport Onsen SORANOYU’s hot spring is a sodium chloride strong saline spring, sourced from ancient seawater. This hot spring is reputed to be effective for shoulder stiffness, muscle pain, and cold sensitivity, and it makes your skin feel smooth.
Various Baths Experiences: 4 points (out of 5)
Personally, I loved to be in the hot open-air bath with looking up at the fields, hills, and airplanes, but also there are many other types of baths. The open-air bath includes a pot bath, lying bath, jacuzzi, indoor bath includes a high-concentration buble bath, cold bath, and sauna etc.
Facility : 4 points (out of 5)
The facility is well-maintained and clean. The building has a strong impression of Japanese architecture, and there are manga corners, game corners (I wonder if anyone wins these. I’ve never won, haha), reclining seats, nap areas, dining areas, and parking lots, all of which are well-equipped. There is also a hotel inside where you can stay (guests staying overnight seem to go to a zone a bit further back. Many travelers seemed to be staying). By the way, guests staying at Narita Airport Onsen SORANOYU can check in at 5 PM, but it seems you can use the super sento from 10 AM on the same day. The price starts from 4,700 yen (capsule hotel type).
Food: 3 points (out of 5)
I had udon, tempura, and ramen. All were delicious. I also had soft serve ice cream and shaved ice after the bath. Everything was tasty.
Overall Rating: 4.35 points (out of 5)
Originally, it wasn’t ranked 20th, but after the closure of Oedo Onsen Monogatari Urayasu Mangekyo, it moved up from 21st place. As a review of hot springs and super sento in Chiba Prefecture, it was such a wonderful place that it might set expectation of other facilities in Chiba too high for the first review! The aroma of the hot spring, the scenery, the atmosphere of the building, everything was very enjoyable, and considering the price with the rock bath plan and indoor wear, it’s not expensive. I definitely want to visit again from Tokyo, but for those who want to experience a bit of Japanese hot springs before going abroad, after returning, or for those traveling to Japan from abroad, this hot spring with a shuttle bus from Narita Airport is very convenient and highly recommended!
