Review of my Visit
I visited Roten Garden early in the day, so parking was smooth. The nearest station, Hashimoto Station, is on the Keio Line, with a direct train to Shinjuku taking about 40-50 minutes. A shuttle bus from the station provides easy access. The entrance and building are quite impressive, befitting a top-ranked super sento. Excited, I stepped inside.
Relaxing/Extraordinary Atmosphere: 4 points (out of 5)
Roten Garden is a spacious super sento with various relaxation spaces, including karaoke, a manga corner, and reclining seats. Even on a day trip, it offers a strong sense of escapism. The unique waterfall bath and the two-story open-air bath enhance the experience. However, while it’s a refreshing retreat, it doesn’t provide the lush natural scenery of a mountain onsen. A night visit for the city lights might offer a different charm!
Quality of the Hot Spring: 4 points (out of 5)
The spring water is a sodium-chloride hot spring, known for its moisturizing effects. My skin remained soft even after leaving the bath, and I felt warm from the core. The faint sulfur scent added to the authentic onsen atmosphere.
Various Baths Experiences: 4 points (out of 5)
Roten Garden offers a variety of baths. I experienced the Japanese-style zone, but the Western-style zone is also available on alternating days. To fully enjoy both styles, visiting multiple times is recommended!
Bath Types & Features (Western-Style Zone) [From Official HP]
Open-Air Bath (Natural Hot Spring): A modern, Japanese-style outdoor bath mixed with Western influences for an elegant bathing experience.
Reclining Bath (Natural Hot Spring): A half-body bath where you can lie down and fully relax. So comfortable, you might fall asleep!
Cloud Flow (Jet Bath): Fine bubbles rising from the foot area provide a full-body massage effect.
Aromatic Bath: A herbal-infused bath that soothes both the mind and body.
Indoor Baths: Includes jet baths that stimulate pressure points and cold baths for effective relaxation.
Sky View Open-Air Bath (Natural Hot Spring): Located on the second floor above the open-air bath, featuring two natural hot spring tubs. The smaller tub offers free-flowing hot spring water. Enjoy Hashimoto’s night view in an Asian-inspired ambiance.
Bath Types & Features (Japanese-Style Zone) [From Official HP]

Facility : 4 points (out of 5)
The facilities are generally well-equipped, though they feel slightly aged. However, cleanliness is well-maintained. Compared to newer super sento, it may not feel as modern, but it still offers a comfortable experience.
Relaxation Space ①: Play board games like Othello.
Relaxation Space ②: A well-stocked manga corner with various seating options.
Karaoke Booths: Private booths for a quick singing session—an unusual but fun addition! A great way to take a break.
Food: 4 points (out of 5)
The restaurant menu is extensive, with the soba and udon being highly rated. They were delicious—exactly what I expected from a day spa meal. Satisfying, but not extraordinary.
Total: 4点/5点
