In this article, I will share a detailed stay review of Oiso Prince Hotel, one of the most iconic scenic resort hotels in Kanagawa Prefecture’s Shonan area.
Despite being exceptionally accessible—just about 1.5 hours by car or train from central Tokyo (Tokyo Station)—it offers the signature Prince Hotel brand quality, Oiso Long Beach (one of the Kanto region’s largest water parks), the refreshing ocean breeze, and expansive horizon views over Sagami Bay. For those who want to spend a single night nearby, minimize travel time, and instantly immerse themselves in a genuine resort vibe, this location is absolute perfect.
While Oiso Long Beach is undoubtedly the main attraction during summer—and will be the primary focus of this blog post—another major highlight is the spa facility “THERMAL SPA S.WAVE,” which has been generating huge buzz on social media. Be sure to experience the spotlessly clean hot springs, saunas, and the stunning infinity pool where the water seems to blend seamlessly into the Pacific Ocean.
In this thorough report, I will share not only the charms discovered during my actual stay, but also an unvarnished, honest assessment that includes key precautions for families traveling with children and insights into the overall value for money.
Impressive Spa & Views: Looking out over the ocean from the infinity pool was deeply relaxing. The water temperature was pleasantly warm, making it fantastic even in winter.
Ocean View Guest Rooms: Waking up in the morning and opening the curtains revealed endless blue sea and sky! Booking an Ocean View room was definitely the right choice.
Excellent Spa Services: The spa facilities are clean and luxurious. Having unlimited access to fresh towels and bathrobes was wonderful.
Highly Satisfying Breakfast: The freshly made omelet at the live kitchen breakfast buffet was exquisite. Dining in a restaurant overlooking the ocean was extremely satisfying.
Attentive Hospitality & Service: Staff members were exceptionally polite from check-in to the restaurant, and their thoughtful touch for our anniversary celebration was greatly appreciated.
Where needs improvements
Room Age & Bathroom Fixtures: While the common areas are beautiful, the room’s bathroom facilities felt a bit dated. The low height of the sink and slightly lax cleaning were noticeable.
Walking Distances Indoors: Since the front desk is located at one end of a horizontally expansive building, walking to the guest rooms or public baths takes time and can feel somewhat exhausting.
Spa Age Restrictions & Crowds: To allow adults to relax quietly, it would be better if there were clearer age limits or dedicated time slots for the spa and infinity pool.
Nearby Convenience: There are few convenience stores or restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, and the gift shop selection on-site is limited, which felt slightly inconvenient.
Review Summary: Score 4.35 / 5.00
“Families who love water parks should absolutely stay overnight here! You’ll get your absolute fill of pool fun with total satisfaction.”

Above all, playing at Oiso Long Beach is amazing. Look at this picture! There’s a wave pool, a lazy river, diving boards, and water slides—you can easily play here all day long. Being able to enjoy this on both your check-in day and check-out day is simply unbeatable.
Activities 5.0 / 5.0
Let me break down the various pools at Oiso Long Beach in detail!
1. Wave Pool

The kind of wave pool you can only experience at a massive venue like this is always a huge hit. However, keep in mind that it’s extremely popular and gets very crowded!
2. Normal Swimming Pool

To be honest, it’s just a standard pool. But because the other pools are so popular and packed, you’ll likely find yourself dipping into this relatively quiet pool to splash around. That said, if you’re an overnight hotel guest, you’ll have access to another uncrowded pool, so you’ll probably head there instead.
3. Diving Pool

Incredible fun for both kids and adults. Watching your child dive from high platforms really makes you realize how much they’ve grown (haha).
4. Fountain Children’s Pool

A safe area for young children, where toddlers have a great time playing. It might be hard to tell from the photo, but there are small steps to slide down and mini water slides, making it more than enough fun for little ones.
5. Lazy River

The iconic highlight of Oiso Long Beach. One full loop is super long! When there are fewer people, it’s crystal clear! Toward late afternoon, the water inevitably gets a bit murky (lol), but you can’t help going around and around with your kids. Just note that because one loop is so long, getting separated from your kids can be tricky, so please be careful.
6. Kids’ Water Paradise

Was there a place like this…? Sorry, I honestly don’t recall this one!
7. Water Slides

I’d love to say it was super fun, but unfortunately… there was a massive line and my kids didn’t want to wait, so we skipped it. If you love water slides, definitely give it a try!
8. Hotel Guests-Only Pool

Before staying here, I thought, “With so many exciting pools around, we probably won’t use this exclusive pool much.” But in reality, overnight guests will end up spending quite a bit of time here!
Here’s why: ① Guest-exclusive parasols and sun loungers are located in this area. ② The exclusive zone sits right in the center of the entire pool complex, making it super easy to go to/from both the wave pool and lazy river, plus it’s right next to the food stalls. ③ Thanks to ① and ②, when other public pools get crowded and tiring, you end up lounging here, grabbing light bites, taking quick dips in the nearby quiet water, and before you know it, spending a great chunk of time here. Less crowd is simply the best!
Personally, I recommend the tent-style spots in this area. It felt a bit like a secret hideout and gave an exciting departure from standard parasols!
Plus Golf, Tennis, and Footballl!
Oiso Long Beach offers many other facilities (See Facility List), and its golf and tennis amenities are well-known too. Since we didn’t play this time I can’t review them directly, but I saw plenty of visitors visiting specifically for those sports.
Hot Springs & Baths: 3.0 / 5.0
This is the other major reason to stay at Oiso Prince Hotel!
After enjoying the massive Oiso Long Beach water park, you get to experience this genuinely wonderful spa facility.
It isn’t just a tiny public bath tucked away in a standard hotel—it’s a remarkably well-equipped facility. After checking in at the spa desk, you receive comfortable loungewear (which feels amazing!), and get access to fully equipped hot springs and saunas. Personally, cooling off after a session in the sauna was pure bliss.
For sauna enthusiasts, it’s a dream come true, and the spotlessly clean environment is fantastic. As for the hot spring water quality itself, it felt fairly average, which is why I gave it a rating of 3.0.
Facility Quality 5.0 / 5.0
All in all, true to the Prince brand reputation! Despite being a historic property, everything was beautifully maintained and clean. In particular, the room we stayed in comes highly recommended.
Consistently delicious! While it might not blow your mind, it definitely leaves you feeling like you’ve enjoyed a high-quality meal. (That said, hardcore fine-dining French enthusiasts might feel it’s just one step short of remarkable.)
Summary
It’s summer vacation! But you don’t have much travel time! Yet you want to enjoy pools as if you flew to Okinawa! And you don’t want to just play in pools—the adults want to relax, stay in a great room, and enjoy fine food! Oiso Prince Hotel is the exact place that fulfills all these wishes. Visiting when Oiso Long Beach is less crowded by staying overnight makes the experience even better, so I highly recommend booking a stay!
